The Paul Carrington Chapter has been serving the Houston area since 1930. We are one of more than 500 local chapters of The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), the largest male lineage organization in the United States. The SAR is a patriotic, historical, and educational non-profit organization that seeks to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom, an appreciation for true patriotism, respect for our national symbols, the value of American citizenship, and the unifying force of e pluribus unum. We strive to honor our patriot ancestors by educating Americans young and old about the sacrifices and hardships they faced and by encouraging more men in our community to discover their unique heritage back to the fight for American independence. Membership is open to males who descend from an ancestor that meets the Revolutionary War service requirements. Our Genealogist and other members are here to help you complete your membership application. The satisfaction you will receive from being addressed as a Compatriot and the pride you will feel in helping others preserve the history that founded this country will give you immeasurable reward. December 2025 Awards Lunch

The Chapter will hold its annual Awards Lunch at the Bayou Club on Friday, December 19, 2026. A terrific buffet lunch will be served and we will honor those compatriots who have furthered our Chapter’s mission this past year.

Tickets for the lunch are $75 per person and can be purchased on-line via PayPal. To purchase individual tickets by check, contact the Treasurer by e-mail to obtain the mailing address to send your check. Please purchase your ticket before Friday, December 12, 2025 to ensure you have a seat.

2026 George Washington Dinner

The 82nd Annual George Washington Dinner will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the Junior League of Houston. The evening will commence with a cocktail reception at 6 pm, before sitting down for a multi-course meal at 7 pm.

The Dinner's proceeds fund the Chapter's military-related activities throughout the year. These includes awarding $1,000 scholarships to four to six newly commissioned ROTC cadets and midshipmen from the Houston ROTC Consortium, a $1,000 scholarship to an HISD JROTC graduating cadet, scholarships for JROTC contests, participating in the annual Wreaths Across America, working with the Houston National Cemetery in various projects, honoring and providing service to veterans, and supporting our active-duty military service members.

Our chapter generally meets for lunch on the third (3rd) Wednesday of every month (September through May) at 11:30 AM - except for February. Each meeting includes pledges, a breakfast meal, and a speaker. Our meetings are open to the public, and we invite those interested in joining to attend. Please check the calendar for up-to-date information on meetings.

Our meetings are held at a local restaurant. The restaurant requires a headcount one week before, so if you wish to attend, please RSVP be emailing registering your attendance via Eventbrit., on the Meetings Page.
