The Paul Carrington Chapter has been serving the Houston area since 1930. We are one of more than 500 local chapters of The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), the largest male lineage organization in the United States. The SAR is a patriotic, historical, and educational non-profit organization that seeks to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom, an appreciation for true patriotism, respect for our national symbols, the value of American citizenship, and the unifying force of e pluribus unum. We strive to honor our patriot ancestors by educating Americans young and old about the sacrifices and hardships they faced and by encouraging more men in our community to discover their unique heritage back to the fight for American independence. For more information, visit our About Us page.
Membership is open to males who descend from an ancestor that meets the Revolutionary War service requirements. Our Genealogist and other members are here to help you complete your membership application. The satisfaction you will receive from being addressed as a Compatriot and the pride you will feel in helping others preserve the history that founded this country will give you immeasurable reward. Please visit our Membership page for more information and to contact us.

George Washington Dinner
The 80th Annual George Washington Dinner will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the Braeburn Country Club. The evening will commence with a cocktail reception at 6 pm, before sitting down for a multi-course meal at 7 pm. The 80th Annual George Washington Distinguished Service Award recipient has yet to be determined.
The Dinner's proceeds fund the Chapter's military-related activities throughout the year. These includes awarding scholarships to four newly commissioned ROTC cadets and midshipmen from the Houston ROTC Consortium, honoring and providing service to veterans, and supporting our active-duty military service members. In addition, with the proceeds from recent Dinners, the Chapter, working with the Houston Independent School District, awards two scholarships to HISD JROTC cadets each year.
The price for table sponsorships and individual tickets will be determined within the next few weeks.
Wreaths Across America
The Paul Carrington Chapter proudly supports the Wreaths Across America program. For 2022, the Chapter donated over $2,700 to sponsor over 180 wreaths. Please consider making a donation to assist our chapter in sponsoring wreaths this year.
Please join us on Saturday, December 16th for the Wreaths Across America ceremony honoring our fallen veterans. The Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr. 77038, will host the event starting at 11 am. Parking is limited at the cemetery so complementary shuttle buses are provided from Greenspoint Mall. For more information please see https://waahouston.com/wreath-day-info/
We will meet as a Chapter behind the Hemi Cycle following the ceremony and be directed to the sections to lay the wreaths. More information can be found here.
